Clinical Notes
The Cockcroft-Gault formula estimates creatinine clearance (not indexed to body surface area) and is widely used for drug dose adjustment in renal impairment. The female adjustment is × 0.85. The NKF now recommends transition to race-free eGFR equations for medication decisions; CrCl still appears in many drug labels.
