Reticulocyte Index = Reticulocyte % × (Patient Hct / 45)
Clinical Notes
The reticulocyte index corrects the reticulocyte percentage for anemia using a normal hematocrit of 45%. A value above 2 indicates an appropriate marrow response; lower values suggest an inadequate response.
