Ratio = LDL / HDL
Clinical Notes
The LDL/HDL ratio contrasts atherogenic and protective cholesterol. A ratio of about 3.5 (men) or 3.0 (women) is considered low risk; values of 5 or higher indicate high cardiovascular risk. It complements, but does not replace, absolute LDL targets.
