Broth microdilution MIC testing uses serial two-fold dilutions of the antibiotic. The MIC is the lowest concentration that visibly inhibits growth. For a 2-fold series starting at 128 µg/mL, wells contain 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1 and 0.5 µg/mL.
